About Living Water CRC

What We Believe

Just as Jesus shared the importance of Living Water with the Samaritan woman in John 4, we seek to proclaim the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ around the world.

We do this work by sharing God’s Word both locally and outside our borders, nurturing faith within the church, caring for the oppressed, and equipping and training leaders to be servants in the Kingdom of God.

Meet Our Pastors

David Sung

Pastor David Sung has been in ministry for the last 23 years, serving Korean American churches in Michigan and New Jersey. He has led close to 50 short-term mission trips and considers them an important part of discipleship in the church.

For the last few years, he asked the Lord of two things:

  1. Let me plant a church.
  2. Let me serve in a multi-ethnic church.

Pastor David considers Living Water the answer to these prayers. Now, as the pastor of a multi-ethnic church plant, he prays that the powerful work of the Holy Spirit in the missions fields be manifested in Living Water. Pastor David’s passion is in worship, discipleship, and outreach.

Pastor David got his BA from the University of Washington in Seattle and his M.Div from Calvin Theology Seminary. He is an YWAMer and currently doing missions work in South India among devadasis (temple prostitutes).

He is married with six children. His wife, Lisa, teaches piano at Calvin College and serves as music director for the Calvin Gospel Choir. Pastor David enjoys playing with children, spending time in nature, and engaging in theological discussions.

Ezra Lee

Pastor Ezra has been a bi-vocational pastor for more than 9 years and a nurse for 17 years. He serves children’s ministry as well as pastoral care ministry for families and individuals. His dream when he was young was to live like apostle Paul as a single, wholly devoted to God and to go as a missionary and finish his life as a martyr. Nothing wrong with that! But his journey took a detour when he met his wife, Becky, and cancelled his promise not to marry and immigrated to the US instead of going as a missionary to a third world country. However, he identified himself as a missionary to America and mentored young college students in Chicago. After finishing his nursing degree and working at a hospital in Chicago, he moved to Grand Rapids to attend Calvin Theological Seminary and graduated in 2014. After serving as an outreach pastor in an urban setting for seven years he joined Living Water in 2021 and is now overseeing children’s ministry and is part of the pastoral care staff.

He has four children between 11 – 19 and they all have a passion for ballet to glorify God through dance. P. Ezra loves dishwashing at home, cleaning at church, and watching Premier League soccer anywhere he goes.

He holds a BA from Chonnam National University in South Korea, BSN from Post University, and M. Div from Calvin Theological Seminary.

He is praying that God would take him home as a martyr around his 80s.

Yohan Lee

Born and raised in Brazil, Pastor Yohan has a deep love for God’s Word and a heart for ministry. He earned his Master of Divinity from Christ’s Servant Theological Seminary (Seminário Teológico Servo de Cristo) in São Paulo, Brazil. After years of serving in ministry, he moved to the U.S. to pursue a Master’s degree in New Testament at Calvin Theological Seminary in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He also completed the Ecclesiastical Program for Ministerial Candidacy (EPMC) at Calvin and was ordained as a Minister of the Word and Sacrament in 2024. Currently, he is furthering his studies with a second Master’s degree in Old Testament at Calvin Seminary.

Passionate about preaching, leading worship, and walking alongside others in their faith journey, Yohan has served in a variety of ministry settings, including urban evangelism, juvenile prison chaplaincy, and short-term missions.

Since joining Living Water in 2021, Yohan has found a home in its culturally diverse and welcoming community. As a third-culture individual himself, he sees Living Water as a beautiful reflection of Revelation 7:9—a glimpse of every nation, tribe, and people worshiping together.

Yohan is happily married to Joana, and together, they are blessed with three wonderful children: Alice, Isabela, and Abel. He enjoys spending time with his family, sharing a good cup of coffee with his wife, and getting lost in a great book.

Yeji “Sarah” Kim

Pastor Sarah is an interning pastor at Living Water CRC. She used to serve as an interim director of worship at LWCRC during the first 1.5 years of COVID19, and now she also serves in church leadership as one of lay leaders.

Pastor Sarah is originally from South Korea, moved to the States in 2015 and finished her high school in High Point, NC. Then, she graduated from Calvin University with a BSN and a minor in General Music.  She is now working as a full time nurse at a skilled nursing facility while doing school part time.

She is in M.Div course at Calvin Theological Seminary as a part time student. She hopes her time at seminary will equip her better to follow God’s calling for her, which is global missions. For a little over a decade, a mission field in the Philippines where she makes annual trips to has had a special place in her heart.

Living Water CRC has been a home church in the US for pastor Sarah since her third Sunday in Michigan. She is grateful to have an opportunity to pour back the love she received from church especially on college students and praise team members.
